For School Teachers

Introduce children to the jungle animals of Africa and to the joys of creativity with art, crafts, quilting and creative writing using the storybook, My Jungle Quilt, and the School Teachers Pack CD.

Suggested classroom activities: 

• Find Africa on a globe or on the Internet.
• Discuss whether the children have seen live animals from Africa in a zoo, a wildlife park or in their travels overseas.
• Have the children draw an animal or a favorite thing and then describe it, tell a story about it or try a little poetry.
• Use the printed designs from the CD for children to color, cut out, paste fabric, and make collages or other projects.
• Introduce the art of quilting. 
• Have a quilt in the classroom for show and tell. 

 The School Teachers Pack CD contains templates for printing color cards, cut outs and collages for use in the classroom.   (These templates are not suitable for doing the appliqué for the quilt itself; the templates for this are available in the pattern book).
